Irish Holiday

Sunday. I don’t really like working on Sunday. I am going in early to work. I need to stop off at Salvation Army to give some stuff. I hope to get through downtown quickly to avoid all the bikers. There is a criterium going on and that is going to clog everything up. I am not a fan of bicycle races anyway, so I generally avoid them.

Emily got up early today. She is taking a chair to Petaluma to a friend. And picking up our daughters passport for her. She is in Hawaii and needs it to be able to get a job. We are passing the passport to one of our daughters friends who is going over to Hawaii for a visit. I guess this all makes sense.

So Emily left early. I did the usual things with the welcome addition of the Sunday SF Chronicle. The paper is finally being delivered after almost a month. I do love a Sunday paper with my coffee.

After I managed to get everything done I headed down the hill. Traffic was a little worse than usual but not so bad. I made it to the Salvation Army drop off in 15 minutes. Store was open but drop offs were closed. So I guess I will give the old microwave a ride into Sacramento with me. Maybe tomorrow I can get this done.

Got to work about 11. The drill in the office is never changing. I was head down till 6pm working. Trying to finish tax returns. It’s not rocket science and it’s not very exciting. I had no phone calls and no visitors. Boring really. It’s a good thing I get paid for this crap.

I am leaving at six because it’s St Patrick’s day. Tradition says dinner of corned beef and cabbage. I think a little whisky may be in order as well. That’s Irish too.

My drive home was again uneventful. The drive I like. Really boring but quick.

Emily cooked up two corned beefs. We always use one to make hash. That’s not Irish but who cares. Our hash is the absolute bomb.

Dinner was excellent by the way. We only eat this on St Pats, not sure why. I think I have not even had cabbage since last 3/17. Though I had hash last weekend at Katrinas here in town.

We got all the dishes cleaned up, made the bed and put away the laundry. More Sunday chores. We were so efficient we were all done and in bed before 9. That’s nice because I am still wiped out from long workweeks and late nights. I won’t be caught up for a month.

For now I am blogging and maybe a little reading. Then bed.
