It’s cold and windy today. And clear and sunny as well. I will dress for that today. Need to add a jacket. I am heading out to the gym in a moment but was called back inside at the last minute.
Spoke to my RE agent. We need to settle the water issue. I may need to add a bacteria killer to the system. I called the filter guys and was pleased to find out that these filters are on sale at 50% off through next Wednesday. That makes it only $582.50 for the unit. Yikes. Only 582.50. Shipping is free. I gotta be more careful when I sell a house next. I also have to pay the plumber to install. But, this is he last money pit item I have to endure before this place is sold. Or so they tell me. I will be happy to be a renter. And, btw, my regular pump guy wants $1700 to install same. So 582.50 is looking like the low price leader.
Workout was the usual. I am getting some new workout activities on Monday. Probably Tuesday cuz Monday is tight. I will see what the new gal has to offer at least.
Back from workout, more phone calls and texts. Got cleaned up. Out the door, the traffic was backed up like nobody’s business and moving slow. I was 20 mins late for my first appointment. That’s really bad because it backs up the whole day. I do not like that. But I deal.
First appointment with an 85 year old lady. It’s funny, really old people are always mentioning how old they are. And how little time they have left. I don’t know why. She is the mother of another client. That’s usually how people show up, referred by friends or relatives. It was an easy return and I finished it in twenty minutes.
Next client is an engineer. Generally, I don’t do business with engineers. They are a pain in the ass. But I do like him. He was referred by his niece who was a long time employee of mine. Decent guy. Takes after his niece. That’s a good thing.
Next gal, owns a kitchen and bath design company. In Loomis which is near Auburn. She referred me to George Henley, the general on my Auburn house build. And also referred me to Mike Malinowski my architect. So she gets a pass on anything. Her returns were not as easy. I prepped her Corp taxes before she arrived. So I was able to finish her personal taxes today while she was here. It’s handy to get done fast. I know she has to be the one to go after the kitchen and bathrooms on my house. There has to be some reward for putting up wih me.
After all were gone I switched gears to cleaning up other things in my way, doing payroll for the office, and going to the bank. There is way too much admin crap in the way of making money. If I had less I would be wealthy. I finished up my day at 645. I am meeting Emily across the street at a restaurant and we are having dinner.
Emily was a little late but we did have reservations so it doesn’t matter. Dinner was very good. Cocktails were good. I had an Old Fashioned as did Emily. They do a very good take on an OF. Of course, mine are far better. And I don’t say so myself, Emily said it. I just agree. Mine are excellent. I did have an excellent entree, pork tenderloin cooked perfectly wih sweet potato mash on the side. Also perfect. We both opted out of dessert and had coffee. And it was hot enough which means it is excellent coffee. Most places don’t understand coffee must be hot.
We left, picked up our cars from valet (it’s free) and headed home. Quiet quick drive. Nice.
Got home and let the dogs out. Me, I let the dogs out. They were in all day and both had their legs crossed when I got home. No accidents. Or on purposes.
We decided to have cupcakes for dessert. We still have some from Emilys class party. And these ones are succulent. Truly very good. And she got them from Sams Club. Hard to believe they have anything of quality but go figure. I endorse them.
Right now it’s bedtime. Emily is already in bed. She does not wait for me. I’ll go up and smack her around. Just kidding.
