My Favorite Auditor

I may have mentioned I have three IrS audits going on right now. Which is three seperate personalities. Three different attitudes. Sets of expectations. Etc. Also one audit is out of state, just as a kicker. I had a scheduled meeting with one of the auditors today but she called last week to reschedule. And I was never able to get ahold of her again. I wonder if she is showing up today or not? Who knows. The other two are in good shape so to speak.

I am going to go workout this morning. Yes, I understand this is no surprise. But I have to state the obvious, as if this were news to someone.

Before I left for my workout, promptly at 802am, my appointment with the IRS called. She is unable to make it to the scheduled time today so we postponed for a week. Thank god. And, to top this off, my next appointment at 11 cancelled. Yay!! This is a good day.

I went to the gym knowing no one was going to screw up my schedule today. I feel so much better. My workout will be better. Extra better. Nowhere to be at a certain time frees up my day. I had a fantastic time. I met the new manager. She took over for Denice who quit. Denice was in charge of creating my workouts. Now it will be new girl Rachel. She’s nice. I look forward to alleviating some of the boredom that sets in.

Home to shower and get set for the day. It has been damn cold lately but today is sunny and mild. So I dressed for that. Turns out, that was a mistake. Oh well.

Instead of driving to the office, I drove to north Sacrmento to pick up my truck. A client has a truck superstore there and he fixed my ripped bedliner as well as a few other small repairs. My client, Jesse, has been a client since 1994. I am the only accountant he has ever had. Long time. Nice guy, nice family.

Drove back to the office. Instead of sticking around I borrowed a smaller car (my truck is huge) and went to the bank. I made all my deposits finally. Relief. Back to the office.

Now the work day really starts. I paid all the past due expenses I had from the accounts I just opened. My mortgages were first. One is $124.99 late fee late. The other was ok. Just late.

After all this excitement of my day, I switched to tax returns. I did manage to get a few finished. That’s good news. I had one last appointment at 5pm with an old line client. His return I got done in one sitting. After his, I finished one more. And strangely, he called right at that time. Weird. He, of course, had more to add that he had forgotten about. Quite a common occurrence I have found. Just means I have to wait for info in order to get the tax return done. Also common.

That was it for my evening. I loaded up and went home. I am tired of dealing with this shit and want to go home for dinner.

Drive again was uneventful. The truck does drive very nicely. It’s heavy so you don’t feel the road like you do with a car.

I got home. I let the dogs out to do their thing. Let them back in and the GD Poodle pissed on the rug next to the door. I hate that dog. I would beat her ass but Emily doesn’t like that. The dog needs a swift swat.

Emily picked up dinner to go. So that means no dinner to fix. Since the downstairs TV is not working we went to bed right after dinner.
