National Holiday

America had the day off today for my birthday. You’re welcome, America.

Ok. Should have had the day off. Still welcome.

For a change, this morning I did not go workout. Not because it’s my birthday. I wanted an earlier start on our drive to Dixon where my mechanic is at. Marika’s car needs a new clutch. And probably a starter as well which I noticed at Starbucks on our way to Dixon. The starter is not engaging the flywheel. Her car is gonna be pricey.

As I said, we got off early to Dixon with a stop for gas and coffee. Took over an hour to get there. Marika, driving her car, disappeared from view and I did not catch her for an hour. I guess she is in a hurry?

We stopped at our favorite bakery, Solano Baking Co, in Dixon. Got a donut each. Hey, it’s my birthday! And then proceeded to Dennis’s house with our broken car. Dennis is a retired mechanic, duh, who now does repairs on the side (if possible in retirement) and does not charge an arm and a leg. So I like him fixing my car. Especially something so pricey as a new clutch. We got to his house on time but he wasn’t there. We parked the car in his driveway, stashed the keys, called and texted him a few times, and left for the office.

Marika is driving me to work and taking my car home. Emily is going to detour through Sacramento on her way home to get me. Lots of planning.

Today I did a few more tax returns. Surprise. I did have an appointment with new clients and did their taxes. Again, duh.

Office celebrated my day as usual. We had a rhubarb pie for lunch. Yay! And I got a card. A special day as always. And there were nice things in the cars for a change. At least that’s what Cara said. I guess it’s a nice change.

Emily got to the office after my last client left. I met her in the parking lot and we headed up to Auburn. She had taco Tuesday in the car for my dinner. So nice, once every 7 years.

Nice ride up the hill though I did get a bit carsick. I was on the phone and reading too. And Emily drives wildly. I sure hope she reads this.

Got home and unloaded. Managed to get settled inside which took a bit. We got all the food heated and on the table and chowed. Sat for awhile and rested, digesting. After a bit we opened presents!! I did. It was very nice. Had a couple cards too. I did get some Sox and a couple Tommy shirts. All very perfect and beautiful. Like me. Emily also got a really cool home cold brew pot so I don’t have to work as hard as I have been with my homemade cold brew. The new pot is far easier than my two container method. I already have a pot “brewing” in the fridge.

And, great news, I get my usual ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Choc mint ice cream with choc fudge and mint mini ice cream balls on it. 59 balls, actually. Sort of cool. We ripped that cake a new one and devoured our share of the cake. Just an awesome birthday. My family loves me. Friends and fam who were not here managed to call during the day to extend greetings. Makes me feel good knowing people take the time.

I am very full now. And sitting with the kid. She is playing on her phone while I sit and blog. Emily has gone to bed. I am going soon. It’s almost 9 and I can do some reading.

Happy Almost Birthday

I hate being up early in a weekend. Yes, I am aware hate is a very strong word. Alarm set for 630. Why? I need to take Emily’s car into the glass shop for a small repair. Last time it was an entire new windshield. That was two months ago. Recently, another rock hit not long thereafter. And I have been hearing about it ever since. “We” need to take the car in she says. Often enough to grate just a bit. I knew from the start I would be doing it myself. Car repairs require a Y chromosome I believe. So she caused it, sort of, I have to fix it the only part that bugs me is being up early Saturday. Of course, she is making me Beef Wellington for dinner tonight. It all works out.

I’m having pancake-meal for breakfast with cold brew. I make “oatmeal” style pancakes in a bowl with syrup. Actually quite good. Product of a kitchen accident years ago and now I make it on purpose. Gotta leave soon.

Got out of the house on time. Cruised to Safelite in Rocklin. Surprise, the shopping center they are in was previously owned by a client of mine. Small world. Meaningless really, just interesting.

Glass guys were on time and ready to go. Took less time than it takes to read a newspaper. I brought mine. Windshield looks great and cost 0. Now emiky can go do her rock magnet thing again.

Back home, and we start the house clean. Since we are having guests for my birthday tonight the house has to be cleaner. No problem here, I clean all the time.

Maybe four hours worth of cleaning. A trip to the grocers and Emily finished preparing the Wellington and scalloped potatoes. No big party tonight but the five of us will do well. We did have a last minute add on of two of my daughters friends so now seven.

Friend Bob arrived early and we celebrated with a cocktail. This was prophetic. Only I was not paying attention. I made Mai Tais. We sat around. Finished those. I made Old Fashioneds. Again, prophetic. I have got to pay attention in the future.

Friend Buck arrived about 630. He was working. Has two stores up in Tahoe and is always busy. He brought my present. The fixings for his version of a Mai Tai. So he made a pitcher of them. PROPHESY WARNING! For years I have said never make cocktails in a pitcher. Impossible to gauge your intake so you have no idea what the fuck you are doing. I really need to pay attention. I am much smarter, I think, than I acted. Buck also brought red wine. As had Bob. We drank three bottles at dinner. I think you can see where this is going.

Just before dinner, Marika got home and the other two, Jut and Geo, arrived. The meal was fabulous. I know I ate a plate. But, I was now blind drunk and my evening ended. Me in the can yakking. Oh boy.

I even missed the birthday cake. Too busy filling the sink. Then the can. Then I ended up in bed unconscious. Sound familiar to anyone?

Today is Monday. 720am. My hangover, hung over into last night and a little of today. This just for context.

So, I “slept” soundly Saturday night. You will never guess how I felt the next morning. Woke around 9. Wanted to puke. Didn’t. Massive headache. Pills. Dry as a bone. Lemonade and ginger courtesy of Emily.

I laid down for awhile. Maybe two hours. Em got pastries, which I tried. No coffee. Read the paper. Went back to bed for a couple hours, no sleep, just exhausted. Did finally get a shower in late afternoon and get dressed. Btw, never left the house except to put dog out. Em went to store. I did laundry and changed the sheets. And laid down for a few more. I am real tired. Had leftover wellie for dinner and this time I remember. Which is a good thing.

Went to bed soon after dinner. Still exhausted. Tomorrow is the Corp tax deadline and a hell of a Monday to boot.

I felt better on Monday am than on Sunday. No two day hangovers for me. Not this time. Although I was still very tired I did not have the headache and tummy flips.

I did everything as usual this morning. It’s raining here, like hell. No effect on me. Emily got out ok. She called me from the road, lots of flooding and heavy rain. She wanted me to drive carefully. Like I dont? Whatever.

Marika went with me to workout. Shocking. Her hangover hit her hard as well. But she got up and we hit the gym. Today’s workout was insane and really destroyed us. I picked it on purpose. Marika even quit on a couple exercises, only doing part of the set. I finished all my sets and all exercises. I am stronger than I was.

We finished up and I offered to take Marika out for a donut which is something we did hundreds of times when she was pre-school. It was our thing. Neither of us had any cash. Seems a problem. We did have cell phones with Apple Pay. Went to donut shop, they don’t take that. Cash or charge or even check. What to do? The gal behind the counter said she would give us coffee and donuts and we could pay later. I love this town. So, we had donuts. A nice respite from the downpour outside. Nicely the rain really lightened up while we were sitting there. Ahh, the magic of a good donut.

We headed home after. I put $20 in my wallet for later and the donut lady. I got ready, usual shower and shave. Dressed. Folded laundry and headed for work. Stopped on the way to pay for donuts and tip. Went to bank to deposit a check and then next door for a cold brew. Then to the salt mine.

Today is like any other deadline. Corp taxes due today. Lots of people interrupting the work flow. I had one couple come in and sit for 3 hours. Just to finish up their crap. It’s seven tax returns, so I am nice. But, they need to get moving. I have other clients to finish.

I spent the whole day head down trying to complete 3 or 4 returns. Which is very hard with all the interruptions I had. One client did not get anything to me by the time I left the office at six. But, he lives in Auburn, not far from me and came over after a dinner of hot soup and a salad. Quite nice in such a cold day. We got him e filed timely. And he went home.

No bad TV tonight. No time. I am in bed. A little light reading and my day will be over.

Almost Over the Edge

I skipped Thursday. Not living it, blogging it. Only thing of note was an early morning meeting in Sacramento with my dope clients. They aren’t dopes, they sell it. Well, maybe they are.

I was late to the meeting. I blame my nav system. Said 54 minutes but it took an hour and 20. Whatever. I sat through an hour of bickering and complaining. Most from the minority preferred shareholder who is really upset. Mostly because he invested in the company. Too bad.

Today, Friday, I have no workout. Why? The plumber is here to install a new water heater. 2 hours. He got here at 8 although it would have been easier if he had come earlier. But, some things can’t be helped. He actually had earlier appointments. I am just hoping I can leave and go to work. It’s deadline.

I did have an hour plus to kill once Emily went to work. I wasted it eating breakfast, checking mail, reading the paper and taking a shower. And taking a crap. Gotta get done, water will be off for two hours.

All done. Plumber got here at 8am. As expected. We are replacing our water heater and doing an endless amount of maintenance and little repairs. Some new faucet cartridges, leaky toilet, etc. he was only able to replace the water heater before running out of time. He had alloted only 4 hours. No big deal. He stayed long enough to get the new heater installed. He will be back in three weeks.

I left at 10am with plumber still working and went to my work. I have tax returns to prepare. Deadline is Monday.

Went to the Starbucks near my office on the way there. They were again, 2nd time this week, unable to give me the Nitro Cold Brew. Assholes. You would think they might comp me a drink, right? No.

Spent the entire work day doing taxes. What a shock. At it till after 6pm. I feel the need to spare the details.

Left the office. Headed up the hill. Nothing special on the trip. Emily finally called me, she has gone to yoga and got done about 7. We both drove home, dropped our crap, and headed to the store. Need supplies for tomorrow’s Beef Wellington. A pre birthday dinner. Couple friends are coming over too. Will be fun. Actual birthday is Tuesday.

So we had to hit two grocers cuz first one had no Crimini mushrooms. But we managed. It was 815 at this point so we found the nearest open food joint and got dinner. Ended up being mediocre pizza and a salad. Took it to go.

At home we unloaded out groceries and other stuff. Finally ate at close to 9.

I have to get up early to take the car in for glass repair. So I am not gonna staybup for bad TV. Just goin to bed.

Middle. No Tacos

Again. Amazingly, I did my morning chores with ease and alacrity. It’s almost like I have been doing the same things every morning for several years. I get a strong sense of deja vu.

Workout was tough but I managed. My trainer, Justin, is almost out of here and off to Indonesia. Only a couple days left. I stopped in the office to ask the manager, Kelly, who my new trainer was going to be. The regional manager was there too. Neither knew shit. What kind of dump are they running here? I would really like to know who will be the new trainer. Not askin much here.

Back to home. Again, all chores done quickly and completely. Go figure. I need to get moving because today I gotta pick up Marika at the airport. She drove down with friend Talyr to San Diego 3 days back and decided to fly home. Anyway, I got out quick and stopped for gas and tire air. Got gas. Aired up? No. No tag on door to help with psi. So, I thought, call Stuart at Honda. Which is when I realized I left the phone at home. Great. Race back home and burn off 20 mins more.

Got the phone. Raced out to the office. By race I mean drive an hour to the office. As quick as it gets.

Office. Managed to do very little while there. I had to leave 30 mins after I arrived to go to the airport.

So, went to airport. Always exciting. Especially when I find the connector to hwy 5 is closed and I have to struggle to find a way around. I was late. No surprise. Picked up the kid who was ok and went back to the office.

What to do at the office? Tax returns of course. Deadline is 5 days away. I have 7 or 8 to go. Got to finish all tomorrow.

I worked till 630. Marika went for coffee. We finished the coffee. She fell asleep on the floor. I kept working till aforementioned 630.

We left. For home? No, liquor store. Total Wine, actually. Picked up a bottle of Dom Perignon for the boy, in celebration of getting his professional license. One caveat, kid has to come to our house to drink it. He is pushing back on that. Anyway, for the bottle.

Drove to home. No more stops. Took forever as it always seems to. Too much traffic.

Emily had dinner ready when we got home. BBQ pork sandwiches again, like two days ago. Of course, they were great again. We also opened a bottle of wine. And drank it too.

Then, you know it, bad TV and go to bed.

Tacos. Finally

Not sure why I look forward to Taco Tuesday so much but I do. Especially today. And it was good but they skimped on the portions. New ownership. May need a new carniceria.

Several hours ago, already thinking of tacos, I got up. At 530, as weekday always. Went through the usual chores. Same always. Workout after Emily left, sans Marika who’s is still in San Diego. Back tomorrow. I am supposed to be on airport pickup duty. I just need an itinerary. I am sure that will arrive. No one likes to walk 59 miles to get home unless forced. She isn’t.

Workout was nothing special. My trainer has been gone for a week so I do my own workout without direction. Took an hour and I was hard on me. I need that.

After workout I went home. Did some work on the computer. Returned Marikas call, not much up. She went to the beach. Must be nice. Why do I work? I could go to the beach. No beach here.

Off to work at about 11. Remember, I was already working. Drive was usual boring nothing happens drive. An hour of my life that is a pure waste. Like the drive home only at least I am home at the end of the late drive.

Work was just like yesterday. Lots of tax returns. That’s it. All day. My 130 appointment showed at 330. Stayed till 630. Argued about the bill. Ate my candy. Spent 75% of the appointment on his phone talking to his customers. Fun. Paid the bill at the end including some in cash. I forgive him.

Trip home. Another hour wasted. As I said, a waste. No stops, fast drive. Nice.

Emily waited for me to start in on the Mexican food. How sweet of her. Food was great. And skimpy as I mentioned. But had a nice meal. The salsa tasted weird, tossed it. The bottle of Pace from the fridge was exceedingly moldy. Not cool. The unopened Pace from the cabinet had turned and was a new color. Tastes strange too. Tossed it. Def not good. Easy to finish dinner, short on food and all.

Watching bad TV now. Em is snoring next to me. Soon to bed.

Monday Why

Today, this morning, was mostly average and mundane and like every other morning. Except Marika’s friend Talyr is snoring in the front room. We left the blow up mattress up from Michaels visit last weekend. And Talyr took advantage of that and I have auditory evidence. Loud evidence.

In spite of all the nasal noise, I got everything done and tried also to wake Marika and get her to the gym with me. But, Talyr wants to leave, with Marika, at 6 am for San Diego. I left for the gym at 7 and both were still in bed. I think 6 is off the table.

I did my workout thing. About an hour. Got home and they had left for SoCal. By my clock, 8am departure. Marika is flying back Wednesday.

I got ready, did the usual. And drive to work. I stopped at Starbucks for a cold brew. And, get this, they were out. Really? Starbucks our of coffee. Of course, they make nothing in the store. The cold brew comes from a factory somewhere. Though it is tasty. But I am pissed anyway.

Got to work. Nothing special going on, as a matter of fact, no messages. That is a win.

All day I prepared tax returns. I had a few phone calls. That’s my day. That’s it. Love it. If only every day of the year was the same way.

Work lasted till 610. Late, but my lawyer called at 540 when I was packing up and leaving. On the office phone. We had quite a bit to discuss. So I could not leave. Trapped. And I pay for the privilege. Best part.

Went back to Auburn. I actually worked all day. Crazy. Emily asked me to pick up dinner from Burger & Cream on my way through town. Local burger joint, very good. I actually forgot and got a mile past it. U turn, back to burgers and the place was deserted. Never seen it empty. I ordered, ten minutes later the place was packed. And my food was ready. And I left.

Got home, quiet, and no one home but the wife. Weird. So we ate our dinner. I added in leftover meatloaf to have with my hot dog. And btw the hot dogs are really great. Em had pastrami. Plus onion rings and fries.

Now bad TV. A normal evening. A little blogging and a snack. Soon, bedtime. Gotta get some sleep to make up for last night. I’m ready for bed now. Emily is still watching. Maybe I can abandon her. Not forever, just leave her watching TV and go to bed.

Official Engagement and More!

Today may be Saturday but it’s no real day off. So, again, it will be a weekend of work and duty. Mostly.

Slow morning, we slept in, not enough. My lovely children slept in more than we did. I imagine, later in life, that will reverse. I can hope.

Today we have a couple things going, my friends Bob and Renee are coming at midday just to see Michael. No, I don’t know why.

I sat around drinking coffee, read the paper. Got ready for the day. The kids,3, went to a brewery before anything else. Beer in the am, yummy.

About 1130 our friends arrived. I texted tres amigos at the brewery and they seemed ready to come home. Not sure what the big draw is at any brewery to get you to go drink in the morning. Of course, they were open, so I guess this is a generational thing.

The kids got home pretty quick. Not at the brewery long enough to get drunk, thank god. Gonna be a long day of drink and food. Need to save space.

So, anyway, we just sat around eating charcuterie and drinking champagne and Caymus cab for a couple three hours. Best part of my day. It is nice to sit with friends and relax. Have a snack and some wine. It was really a great time.

My nephews engagement party starts at 4 and ends to damn late. Hope to leave early. Don’t mean that in a bad way, but it is Saturday, the kid is visiting and I’d rather be doing my own thing. Ya know what I mean?

Since this is my nephew, we volunteered to help out. Emily cooked up pork loins and made nephews favorite pork salad. When I say made salad I mean a lot. There are 100 people coming. So she made a lot.

I, on the other hand, volunteered to bring my wine barrel ice chest. Which is no small feat. It’s huge, holds 100 lbs of ice and is ever so hard to move. I got it in the back of the Fit, took three people, and headed out about 3.

I got about one mile down the road and my tire pressure light came on. So I had to stop at the gas station and spend 15 mins gassing up the tires. The air pump is damn slow. But I got going. I drove to the Johnston’s (nephew) stopped first at the liquor store for ice, got 10 bags, two at a time to the car across a large parking lot. And it’s hot out. This is real work. Ice cost $30. I’m a nice uncle.

For the barrel to the party. Other nephew Clark and his friend took over and got the barrel out of the car and manhandled it to the back yard. That’s for them. I went inside and got a glass of ice water. I am off booze since I already helped drink three bottles of wine.

So we did the party thing. Lots of people, sit and eat, talk to people who bore you that you don’t like, and a few you do like. It’s a big party.

We got out by 8 and drove home. Long day. We sat around a little at home but were all too tired for much. Went to bed soon after.

Sunday was a little better. I slept in till 8. Hurray. Emily was the one who wanted to get up. We are going out to breakfast and want to get moving. Kids gotta go to the airport by 1. So we all took showers and got ready. Took forever. We did not get out the door till after 10.

We tried a new place, new to us, downtown. This town has more breakfast joints than you can shake a stick at. And I mean breakfast only joints, not restaurants serving breakfast too. And they are all busy.

Breakfast was great. I would definitely go back. Spent too much money, that part sucked. Always amazing how the meals add up.

Came home. Emily had work in the house. I need to wash 4 cars. Awesome. Kids flight was delayed an hour so I had time to wash and dry two cars.

Marika has gone to work. Michael and Carly had to leave by 2. I quit on the cars. Then I got Michael out to the shed to go through his stores crap and I was able to get him to get rid of some of his stuff. That’s awesome. I am regaining space in the shed little by little.

Time to leave, loaded up the bags. They said their goodbyes to mom and I drove them to the airport. Neither of them is even a little talkative. So I had a relaxing one hour trip to the airport in total silence, just like the trip back up the hill. How funny.

What did we do when I got back? Went with Emily to quick quack to wash her car. I have made a small career of car washing. After we finished up, we went home. At home, I washed my last car for the day. We do have 6 cars. And, by the way, the Type R looks damn good. Damn good.

Emily was doing school work the whole time I was washing. I did finally finish and clean up. Went inside right when she was finishing up. I have perfect timing.

We have some left over slow cooked pork which we shredded and turned into pulled pork sandwiches for dinner. That’s a bun, cole slaw and bbq sauce soaked pork. Absolutely awesome. With some ice cream for dessert. We live high on the hog. U know, pork loin is on top of the hog.

After that there was bad tv. Emily went to bed. I stayed up to do this and wait for Marika. Also Marika’s friend Talyr is coming tonight. Better to be up.

Talyr showed up about 930. Just walked in. She says she has been here often enough she can just come on in. I suppose it may be true. She and I watched TV till Marika got home at 1030. I fed Marika a deconstructed pulled pork sandwich. Because she did not want the bread. So, meat and slaw.

I finished up blogging and went to bed.

Ok Friday

Days run together. Up at 530. Did my jobs. Emily went to work. I wanted to read the paper, but the asshole delivery folks did not deliver it. My long walk down was a waste. I drank coffee instead. At seven I went to talk to the kid. Wonder of all, she woke and wanted to work out. I was gonna skip it too. Now I can’t.

The workout was the normal shizzle. Marika copied me. We stretched. We went home. This could be any day.

Home. I made Marika coffee. The cold brew.

I took a shower and got dressed. Headed for work. Drive was nice, no in town, one hour traffic jam today.

Work was all about corporate tax returns. Deadline is one week away so I am pushing people to get their shit in. And their payments. Emily needs a new pair of shoes. I have Cara calling clients for docs. I need help. No one in the office today except her and me. Also, no visitors. That’s not bad.

I worked till 645 which is quite late. I have to pick up Michael and Carly from the airport at 730 so I can’t go home. Gotta go to Auburn through the airport. At about 7 I left the office for SMF. Sadly, I got there quickly. Tried to wait at the curb but parking nazi chased me away. Went to free lot. Parked. Phone rang, they are in the terminal. Back to arrivals. Got chased again. Went around to other side of terminal and parked. No nazi. The kids showed up very shortly and we were off to home. Took 40 mins to get to downtown Auburn and the restaurant we were having dinner at. The two had nothing of consequence to discuss in the car. Sad.

Marika and Em were at Tre Pazzi when we finally arrived. We joined them on the front patio. Got situated, ordered apps and drinks. Ordered dinner. We had a very long and relaxing meal about 2 1/2 hours. Have not done that in a long time.

We went home. I should say, Emily did. My tire light was on so I drove to a gas station and bought an air gauge. Checked my tires. All seemed well. Put air in all. My light stayed on. Glad it’s under warranty. Went on home.

Finally got home, set up new air bed for children. Then Em and I went to bed. We are very tired in Friday night. We will see kids in am.

Taco Thursday

Ok, it’s not, but I got my mind on my tacos and tacos on my mind.

Actually bacon wrapped pork is on tonight’s menu. I was hoping for leftovers, we have meatloaf. But, Emily thought otherwise, so pork it is.

I have started with dinner. Mostly because I am writing at dinnertime. Otherwise I might review all the other exciting things that happened to me today.

Dinner was excellent, had green beans and sweet potatoes on the side. Best of all I got to wash the dishes and empty the clean ones from the dishwasher. Awesome fun!! I am now watching bad TV. The end of a fine evening.

Day began poorly. For second night in a row I woke at 4am and did not resleep. That’s my new word I made up.

Usual morning crap with feed cats and people, make Emily an excellent lunch that she complained about and did not eat. Mean word. She could make her own you know.

Coffee for all including my new cold brew. I have had a few days at it and I am very good at it. Marika agrees. It’s unanimous. Emily does not drink cold coffee. Her loss.

The rest of the day was normal. We worked out. Managed to pry Marika out of bed.

To home after, got the usual done, shower, shave. Dressed for work. Left the house early even. Bad news the goddamn hwy was shut to one lane right before 80. So, it took 50 minutes to get to the freeway. Six miles. Love it.

I did finally get to work, 50 minute delay be damned. Not much going, except many tax returns. Not much else all day. Couple of visitors, my work associate Hal came to discuss cases. Nothing new. Friend Bob came by to pick up a tax return copy and we talked about the weekend. Michael is coming home tomorrow and Bob was hoping to see him. So we tried to work him into our tight schedule. Will have to see. Not much else happened today. Worked late but nothing exciting.

Trip home was far better, read faster, than this morning. Only excitement was stopping to pee. That’s fun.

Got home and we had to put out the garbage and clean the house a little for the visiting kid. No, I don’t know why I would clean for him. Moms idea.

Then dinner, which you already heard about. That’s a wrap.

Greek Wednesday

Today was like yesterday only my memory of today is almost complete. Almost.

As always, coffee and lunch and brekkies. Emily is in meetings all day and ordered a snack only lunch. Weird. Emiky to work.

Marika and I went to work out. Usual crap, we warmed up and met with Justin the trainer. He was a little chatty. Turns out he is leaving for Indonesia for two years. He will be out in two weeks. We discussed who would take his place for a few minutes. Then he says, “oh yeah, Megan (a trainer) died last weekend.” I think maybe he should have led with that news. Right? Is that crazy? I saw her last Thursday. It’s all a big mystery so far. Weird day. And then we worked out. Really screws with your head.

On the way home I detoured to Dunk n Run donuts. It’s weigh in day (158.2) and I wanted something I can’t eat. Apple fritter changed at last minute to Raspberry. Marika has a maple of and a glazed. We sat at the counter there, drank coffee and ate donuts. Good stuff.

To home. Did the usual. Almost. Swapped cars with Marika so she could drive a good clutch to her appointment in Davis. Hers is shot and headed for the shop. I went in and showered and changed.

I took the convertible to work. It has a fine clutch.

Work was not very exciting. 9/15 tax deadline is approaching so all I did was tax returns all day. Love my job. No visitors.

There’s the entire day in three lines. I need a better day. And more lines.

Great news. Marika made homemade Gyros, lamb, for dinner. The tzatziki sauce too. Just awesome. After a huge boring day at work I need a big finish. And, we had a bottle of champagne with wine ice cubes. Fancy.

It’s end of day. I’m tired from this morning. It’s only 9am and I am going to bed.
