Monday Why

Today, this morning, was mostly average and mundane and like every other morning. Except Marika’s friend Talyr is snoring in the front room. We left the blow up mattress up from Michaels visit last weekend. And Talyr took advantage of that and I have auditory evidence. Loud evidence.

In spite of all the nasal noise, I got everything done and tried also to wake Marika and get her to the gym with me. But, Talyr wants to leave, with Marika, at 6 am for San Diego. I left for the gym at 7 and both were still in bed. I think 6 is off the table.

I did my workout thing. About an hour. Got home and they had left for SoCal. By my clock, 8am departure. Marika is flying back Wednesday.

I got ready, did the usual. And drive to work. I stopped at Starbucks for a cold brew. And, get this, they were out. Really? Starbucks our of coffee. Of course, they make nothing in the store. The cold brew comes from a factory somewhere. Though it is tasty. But I am pissed anyway.

Got to work. Nothing special going on, as a matter of fact, no messages. That is a win.

All day I prepared tax returns. I had a few phone calls. That’s my day. That’s it. Love it. If only every day of the year was the same way.

Work lasted till 610. Late, but my lawyer called at 540 when I was packing up and leaving. On the office phone. We had quite a bit to discuss. So I could not leave. Trapped. And I pay for the privilege. Best part.

Went back to Auburn. I actually worked all day. Crazy. Emily asked me to pick up dinner from Burger & Cream on my way through town. Local burger joint, very good. I actually forgot and got a mile past it. U turn, back to burgers and the place was deserted. Never seen it empty. I ordered, ten minutes later the place was packed. And my food was ready. And I left.

Got home, quiet, and no one home but the wife. Weird. So we ate our dinner. I added in leftover meatloaf to have with my hot dog. And btw the hot dogs are really great. Em had pastrami. Plus onion rings and fries.

Now bad TV. A normal evening. A little blogging and a snack. Soon, bedtime. Gotta get some sleep to make up for last night. I’m ready for bed now. Emily is still watching. Maybe I can abandon her. Not forever, just leave her watching TV and go to bed.
