At least God got to rest on Sunday. Me, I am working today. Contrary to a commonly held point of view, I am not god. I am Christ-like. And, so you know, a total stranger I was speaking to once told me that. It has not gone to my head. Mostly.
We had to leave for Auburn between 8 and 830. Today is our walk through. If all goes well, we close this week. I have to drive our docs to LA then Visalia to get signatures. That’s Tuesday. Sound fun? It won’t be. But it speeds up the close which makes me happier.
Today, returning to today, is our let’s see how it is look. House is empty. Sellers have moved. We can see everything. And then, I guess, complain about problems. We will inspect and identify. And maybe complain. If I can find someone who cares.
As I was saying, we were supposed to leave at 8 to 830. So we left only 20 minutes late. Of course. And we stopped immediately for coffee. I am not skipping that. I texted our agent and told her where we weee and what time we left. She acted accordingly.
We arrived about an hour later in Auburn. Kary was there already. And we are off. We did a stroll through and tried the fans, lights, gas fireplace, faucets, etc. we looked at floors and rugs, walls and ceilings, sinks and toilets. Everything was in order. We did find some problems with the slate floor tile. A couple areas are faded and look like hell. Seller has already stated he will fix them.
Not much else to report. We spent some time measuring rooms and spaces for furniture. We have a few pieces we would like to acquire and most of the measuring affirmed we could buy whatever we want. I guess that’s a good thing. We will be back at the furniture depot very soon.
We were at the new house for over four hours. Quite a bit longer than we had anticipated. We don’t have much planned for today, past this exercise.
So we finished up and headed down the hill. Quick trip because we weren’t in a hurry. No stops because I forgot the keys to the storage unit. We went hone and I grabbed the keys then we backtracked to the storage units.
We were able to clean out one storage unit. By clean out I mean load half the crap into the tear drop and throw away or donate what we could cram into the HRV. So we loaded and crammed. Took an hour. On the way home we stopped at the donation center and dropped a load.
To home. We unloaded very little since most went away. Once home we relaxed a little. Sat around. Watched TV. Fed the animals, as if those fatties need more food. Black cat just barfs most of it up.
So we continue to sit. I am going to pack a few more boxes tonight before I go to bed. Must keep packing. Till done.
I packed up the entire pantry. Canned food mostly. Unopened boxes, etc. about 6 boxes. What do I get for this? Emily completely pissed off at me. Why? I still can’t figure that out. May be one of those things that is completely unrelated to the object at hand. Cause it sure makes no sense. I am sure she will calm down eventually.
We are now making dinner. Emily has relaxed and become more human. Not human enough to apologize but enough. And by making dinner, we reheated pizza. I am also making chicken mole. Don’t diss me for the weird menu. I just packed up the kitchen. Duh. And I love Mole.
While waiting, it’s Sunday, we are watching AFV. And the final three videos were funny for a change. But, there is another episode back to back. It’s not so funny. And I seen it before. But it’s Sunday and nothing much is on. I could watch the Grammys but I don’t care. At all. A bunch of people I don’t know winning awards for songs I have never heard. Sign me up!! AFV it is.
No more boxes tonight though. I am done. I have three more days of packing boxes before I own the place and can move my shit up there.
We are just going to watch TV. And eat caramel corn. Emily came up with some from I don’t know where. And it’s tasty.
Marika came home tonight toteing boxes. She is moving too. Mostly out of her place in Petaluma and to god knows where. Her next step is vacay in Hawaii. I wish I was young and footloose.
So with Marika home, things change a little. Now three are watching TV. And it’s louder.
Well we are all anartel of fun. All going to bed early. It was a busy day.
