Thursday

Since I spent the day in the car yesterday and got home after midnight it comes as no surprise I slept all the way to the alarm. At least not a surprise to me. But, I am tired.

I have one big errand his morning. Take the new car to service for some items they missed. Like the broken front grill. That’s at 930 so no huge rush. We will probably be late.

I got all the morning chores done and sat around watching bad morning TV. Morning TV is called news but is really just a bunch of advertisements strung together for 90 minutes. But entertaining.

Marika dragged herself out of bed sorta timely. She did not bother to dress besides her pajamas for the trip. I had to, I am going to work.

We left for the car dealer at about 920. Which means we will be late for our service appointment. Oh well. Quick trip and only a few minutes late. I drove the Fit and Marika drove the HRV.

I know a trip to service is not exciting but, there is more to it.

A few years ago, my mom passed. She was cremated and we, sis and I promised to scatter her ashes outside the Golden Gate. That’s where her fathers ashes were scattered. I am the custodian of said ashes. Yes, I can connect these disparate things.

I am at the dealer talking to the service manager, John. I have known him several years. So I know a bit about him. Today he was showing me pictures on the service computer of some flights he has been on lately. And there was a beautifu picture from 1500 feet, on a clear day, of the Golden Gate in the sun. And bingo, I got it!! I asked him if he ever dumped ashes from his plane. He said “an ash drop? All the time.” Mom is going home. Just gotta coordinate getting my sister up here and both of us onto the plane. This is a banner day!

After that, got the HRV checked in and headed home. We got there, dumped the kid and I headed out in the R. Have not driven it in a week.

The trip to work was fast and fun which is how the car drives.

At work I met a client who needed 3 corporate and his personal returns done, pro forma. It took four hours. Client sat on the other side of the desk and watched. What a pain. Besides I had to ignore all else in order to get his crap done. Not a fun day.

I did finally get it all done and he left. Then I spent the balance of the day with cakes and emails. And, tax returns. I even finished a couple. I did not leave till almost 8.

Stopped at the store on the way home to pick up some moving boxes. It is a bitterly cold night and I think I froze inside the Home Depot. They have the huge roll up doors and they leave them open. Freezing.

Hit home late. Emiky has gone out to dinner with our friend Roma and did not make dinner. Good thing I love her or I would kick her to the curb. I ate leftovers which was three kinds of meat. I did not feel like cooking anything.

To cap the evening, you got it, bad TV. For only an hour since I was late. Off to bed.
